General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Ava (Maura West) may finally be turning a corner. It’s been almost a year since Kiki (Hayley Erin) was brutally murdered by Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom). Losing her daughter, especially because they were on the outs at the time, has been one of the most difficult challenges Ava has ever faced, and the fact that Ryan killed Kiki because of that has been more than Ava can bear at times.
General Hospital Spoilers – Ava has tried just about everything!
Besides drinking heavily, Ava has contacted two psychics and even told her story to Crimson magazine, all in the hopes of putting this chapter behind her. It’s no surprise that she avoided therapy since when she met Ryan, he was impersonating his twin brother Kevin (also Jon Lindstrom) who she went to for therapy at the time. Ryan encouraged Ava’s darker tendencies. But seeing a different therapist might be just the thing Ava needs right now. And that’s where Neil comes in.
GH Spoilers – First therapy session
Ava’s first session with Neil was all over the place as she briefly touched on just about everything above, plus her decades long war with Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros). But Neil honed in on what Ava admitted was the first in a long line of tragedies, the loss of Nikolas Cassadine (last played by Nick Stabile). It was Nikolas’ death that Ava feels started her downward spiral. Also, the fact Ava that signed an affidavit that said Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) shot Nikolas in self-defense instead of the truth that Valentin murdered Nikolas. Is it possible that Ava’s guilt over this lie is the reason Ava can’t seem to move on and at least begin a new life?

General Hospital Spoilers – Scarred face
Viewers will remember that Valentine offered Ava the chance to have the scars on her face healed if she would sign the document with the falsified information. Ava’s vanity won out and she agreed, This allowed Valentine to control the vast Cassadine empire and the family home at Wyndemere. Perhaps in future sessions, Neil will point out that coming clean about what really happened the day Nikolas “died” might be a true first step for Ava and her recovery. Ironically, there have been many hints that Nikolas is really alive. Ava pointed out that Nikolas was the one person who saw both her good and bad sides and wanted all of her. It’s possible that if he returns and they renew their relationship, that will also be another step in the healing process.
GH Spoilers – What do you think?
Do you think Neil can help Ava. Or maybe Nikolas himself? Either way, it seems as if Ava may finally be on the road to some sort or recovery and maybe even a bit of happiness. Time will tell, but you can watch it happen every weekday on General Hospital, on ABC!
