“Days of Our Lives” Executive Producer Ken Corday

In an interview with MediaWeek, “Days of Our Lives” Executive Producer Ken Corday talked about the upcoming time jump storyline and addressed rumours about Jennifer Aniston joining the cast for John Aniston’s final episode.

The TV producer suggested that the time jump storyline is really good since they’re now left wondering how they could top it for their anniversary next year. He added that the time jump storyline will give writers flexibility since they can go back to the past or move to the future. This also means some major characters could be brought back.

Days of Our Lives Rumors about Peter Reckell

One of these rumored characters is Bo but Corday was quick to clarify it and said that the actor who portrays him, Peter Reckell “is happily settled in Indiana and not coming back to Hollywood.”

DOOL Rumors about Jennifer Aniston

There were also speculations that Jennifer Aniston will join the cast of “Days of Our Lives” for her father, John Anniston’s, retirement.

Corday said that John, who plays Victor Kiriakis, is not leaving the show. However, he didn’t confirm nor deny Jennifer Aniston rumours. He simply said “John’s daughter could come to Salem in the future, “We are always talking to Jennifer, so you never know.”

Days of Our Lives’ Dismal Ratings

He also took the time to address the concerns regarding the show’s dismal ratings as per the recently released Nielsen numbers. Although “Days of Our Lives” have surpassed General Hospital a few times since Ron Carlivati took the helm, the soap seems to always rank last among all the network daytime dramas.

Corday insisted that the show is actually doing better than what most people think.

“Nielsen meters don’t take in single-parent homes, college dorms, or jails,” he explained.

He also revealed that Days is by far the most-watched show on NBC, even beating all of the network’s primetime show.

In line with that, Corday revealed that they’re “now at the table renegotiating for a better deal because the production company gains no revenue from that.”

DOOL News – NBC’s New Streaming Service

The Peacock, which is NBC’s new streaming service, is set to launch next April. The news have left fans wondering if it’ll include the sudser. Corday can’t give out any official response to this matter just yet.

But he hinted that “If they are smart, they will do Greatest Weddings or Best Comebacks because we have a huge back catalogue.”
