The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers has some news to pass on about a popular B&B star. Alley Mills, who portrays Pam Douglas on the CBS soap, is now off contract and on recurring status.
The news originally struck fear in fans, since it was buzzed around the same time that a main B&B character was going to die on the show. But Alley’s fans can breathe a sigh of relief, since the character who appeared to perish on the show was Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) who fell into a vat of steaming liquid on the episode airing on Friday, November 8, 2019.
We should note, however, that Thomas is mentioned in upcoming spoilers, so it seems that the buzz about a B&B character dying was a fake-out. At any rate, Alley’s character Pam is going to remain on canvas, but viewers will simply see her less frequently as Alley is now on recurring status.
As CBS Soaps In Depth has reported, Alley has stated that she’s grateful for the opportunity to spend more time with her family, and she’s interested in pursuing other projects at this time.
Alley began on B&B in the role of Pam Douglas, the younger sister of the late Stephanie Forrester (Susan Flannery), back in 2006. She is also known for her work on the ABC coming-of-age series The Wonder Years as matriarch Norma Arnold, but she’s appeared on numerous TV series over the years, including Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, Touched By an Angel, The Waltons, and Profiler to name a few.
Fans may be wondering what’s going to happen with the character of Pam going forward. As is stands, we’ve seen Pam mostly at work at Forrester Creations, where she frequently presents her famous lemon bars to other characters and those who pass by her desk.
She did have a more central storyline several months ago when Charlie Webber (Dick Christie) proposed to her and she happily accepted. But then conflict arose when she wanted to have the wedding at the Forrester mansion – something that Quinn Forrester (Rena Sofer) wasn’t thrilled about it. That led to some major arguments between Quinn and Pam.

And things got worse when Pam decided that she wanted to have her sister Stephanie’s portrait reinstated in the mansion for the wedding. That really irked Quinn and started a full-scale war between the ladies. In fact, things got so bad that Pam ended up calling off her engagement to Charlie, and the subject of their marriage hasn’t been addressed since.
B&B fans will certainly miss seeing Pam on canvas, as she is an important link to Stephanie, as well as an important member of the Forrester family in her own right. Let’s hope that she recurs frequently on the show!
