Eastenders News: 35th Anniversary Filming Showcases Lifeboat Action On River Thames
While the anniversary special episodes are still being filmed, the action was caught on camera as Max and Jack Branning go to someone’s rescue on a lifeboat.
It was recently reported that a shock episode on “EastEnders” would see someone fall into the River Thames and die. This is part of the week-long celebration of the soap’s 35th anniversary, during which much excitement is expected.
(Can you include a link to my previous EastEnders article about the drowning?)
Wednesday night saw “EastEnders” resuming filming for the 35th Anniversary Special and as mentioned in the earlier article, the drama heated up as one of the passengers on the wild celebratory boat party fell overboard.

Just a reminder, that Mick and Linda Carter (Danny Dyer and Kellie Bright respectively) win the “Pub of the Year” contest. This gives them the opportunity to invite their regular patrons to enjoy a free luxury boat trip and wild party on the River Thames. Reportedly half of the Albert Square community will be on the boat when things take a deadly turn.
As noted by MailOnline, during filming on Wednesday night, Jessie Wallace (Kat Slater) was seen to be wearing a leopard print, faux fur coat, with her hair dishevelled, while Jake Wood (Max Branning) and Scott Maslen (Jack Branning) appeared to be running a rescue mission, as they are seen jumping into a lifeboat.
Kat definitely looked like she was enjoying herself and was in the company of on-screen boyfriend, Kush Kazemi (Davood Ghadami). She was seen wildly dancing around the deck of the boat, much to Kush’s amusement. It is currently unsure if this was a scene from the soap, or a fun break during filming. Besides the fun, however, Kat and Kush were also seen in deep, personal conversation around that time.
Who fell overboard?
While the action looked pretty exciting, so far it is unclear which “EastEnders” character took the unfortunately tumble into the chilly water. However, bosses on the show had confirmed that there will be a death of a major “EastEnders” character during anniversary week.
The MailOnline has published photos of Jessie sitting with other cast members while the excitement and action ensued. Whoever it was that fell in the water (whether actor or stunt double), onlookers at the scene on the River Thames claimed they heard someone yelling the name “Mick.” While it is obviously not confirmed to be Linda’s husband that ended up in the drink, his aunt, Tina Carter (Luisa Bradshaw-White) was seen to be distraught, while running towards the lifeboat to give Max and Jack a hand.
Fans will have to wait until next month when the dramatic 35th Anniversary episodes air to find out which major character left the show in a deadly way.
