Kin Shriner is the kind of actor who wants to shoot scenes on “General Hospital” in just one take and that’s he makes sure that he’s always on his toes. But not only that, Shriner always keeps his fellow co-stars alert and ready for anything.

The actor, who plays Scott Baldwin, on the sudser revealed that he “likes to pull back in rehearsal and save stuff” for taping.

“If it’s a two-person scene and you’re sitting at Kelly’s, let’s roll and see if we can get it in one try. That way, you can throw the actors’ curveballs. It’s fun to keep it loose and just do it,” he explained.

He praised Roger Howarth, who portrays Franco Baldwin and Maura West as Ava Jerome, for being able to handle how he works. The soap vet admitted that if other actors were on their position, they won’t know what to say and would complain that he didn’t give them the cue. That’s why he loves Howarth and West.

“I love working with those two! I don’t think they ever know what I’m going to say, so I keep them on their toes — and they keep me on mine,” he said.

GH News: Shriner’s Run On General Hospital

Shriner’s best known for his role on “General Hospital.” He joined the cast back in 1977 but left the program several times and took on other roles on other soap operas. Even though he had brief stints on other shows, he continued to appear regularly on “General Hospital” and is continuing to do so for five consecutive decades.

Acting Career

Before joining the entertainment industry, Shriner was a door to door salesman. Aside from “General Hospital,” he appeared on the NBC daytime soap opera “Texas” as Jeb Hampton.

He also played the role of Mike Gallagher on the short-lived daily soap called “Rituals” and then portrayed the character, Dr. Brian Carrey, on “The Bold and the Beautiful.” He joined the cast of “Port Charles” and then “The Young and the Restless” as Harrison Bartlett. He also appeared on “As the World Turns” in the role of Keith Morrisey and as Jeffrey Bardwell on “The Young and the Restless.”

His other acting credits include “Full House,” “Baywatch Nights,” “Echo,” “Melrose Place,” and “Justice League Unlimited.”
