The accord between Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) is real on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Those closest to both men are pleased that the often-times combatants agreed to peace after last year’s terrible medication double-dosing and incredible death hoax.
Victor has mellowed to a great degree leading into the gala that celebrates Newman Enterprise’s founding. His decision to step back from the reigns at the company he founded, relinquishing control to his first-born daughter, was a major threshold to cross. He’s been reconciled to Nikki for a while and has reached a period of general tranquility.
Adam was living in Las Vegas, Nevada, believing himself to be ‘Spider’. As soon as his father learned that his son was alive, he went to the famous gambling destination. Along with with Sharon Newman’s (Sharon Case) help, Victor succeeded in bringing Adam back home.
In time and along with Chloe Mitchell’s (Elizabeth Hendrickson) missed shot, Adam regained his memory and eventually reestablished a relationship with his father.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Wonderful Flashback Scenes At The Farm
In a career filled with many memories, the ones that Victor holds most dear involve his family. Hardcore fans recall with great fondness the beautiful storyline that wrote Hope Adams (Signy Coleman) into the show.
That arc had Victor assumed dead, which allowed him to spend a significant amount of time with Coleman’s character at her farm in Kansas. Hope, who was blind, was being assaulted when Victor saved her, thus sparking the beginning of their friendship, eventual marriage, and the birth of their son, Victor Adam Newman.
The images of Braeden holding a newborn baby in his arms, just after Hope delivered Adam, were heartwarming. Those moments took place during what can be considered one of Y&R’s heyday decades, that began in the 1970s (with the show debuting in 1973) and lasted through the 1990s.
Y&R Spoilers – Soap Detergent Reference Winks At Fans
Vickie Newman (Amelia Heinle) and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) had a replica car, that was enclosed in glass, made for their father. The gift represented the same make and model vehicle that Victor used when he was selling soap out of his trunk.
The above reference prior to the gala, along with Victor’s verbal addition to the large crowd during the event about the detergent he developed, was a wink to the fans. Y&R is one of the great soap operas, with Braeden’s character being one of its leading characters. And detergent commercials were a staple of these shows in the earlier years of the genre.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Renewed Alliance Takes Characters Back
The adult version of Adam (as initially portrayed by Chris Engen, 2008 to 2009), got along with Victor after he came to understand his father. A business school prodigy, Adam was projected to run the family business one day.
Daydreams don’t often flow as expected, with Victor and Adam (as later played by Michael Muhney (2009-2014), Justin Hartley (2014-2016), and then Grossman, 2019-present), vehemently disagreeing far more often than embracing, as they did at the gala after Adam offered kind words for his dad.
There have been four solid adult actors who’ve portrayed Adam. There has only been one actor, the icon, Braeden, who’s embodied Victor from the beginning (1980) until now. Here’s hoping that Victor and his son continue rebuilding their bond and pursue positive adventures together, as that would make for interesting soap in these modern times.
