Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Ben Weston Flatlines – Can He Be Revived?
Days of Our Lives spoilers tease that Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) will flatline before Ciara Brady (Victoria Konefal) and Dr. Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) can fully get the execution process stopped; can he be revived? That is the question Days of Our Lives and CIN fans want to know!
DOOL Spoilers: Execution By Lethal Injection Is A Three Step, Three Shot Process, And Ben Weston Has Had Two So Far
Execution by lethal injection is a three step, three shot process, and by the time Ben flatlines, he has already had the first two shots. The substances used in lethal injection executions are usually a set of three, given in this order: First, sodium thiopental or pentobarbital, an ultrashort-action barbiturate, an anesthetic agent used at a high dose that renders the person unconscious in less than 30 seconds.
Depression of respiratory activity is one of the characteristic actions of this drug. Consequently, the lethal-injection doses will—even in the absence of the other two drugs—cause death due to lack of breathing, as happens with overdoses of opioids. Some states use this drug alone. Next, pancuronium bromide, a nondepolarizing muscle relaxant, which causes complete, fast, and sustained paralysis of the skeletal striated muscles, including the diaphragm and the rest of the respiratory muscles; this would eventually cause death by asphyxiation.

Finally, potassium chloride: a potassium salt, which increases the blood and cardiac concentration of potassium to stop the heart via an abnormal heartbeat and thus cause death by cardiac arrest. Ben’s will to live must be very, very strong just to resist the effects of the first one alone! Or it is possible that Statesville Prison’s supplies of the drugs are expired, making them take much longer to work! But then this is a fictional daytime drama so this will play out differently than it would had it been a real life situation – although there are instances of inmates surviving lethal injections, usually because drugs were not administered correctly. There are no antidotes listed for the first two injections that Ben likely receives.
Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Ben Weston Will Be Revived
Ben will be revived and saved, and there is no need for CIN fans to worry that they will lose their favorite couple. He may be shocked back to life with the usual medical machinery used, but there is a huge clue in this week’s Days of Our Lives preview – a scene of Ciara beckoning, and telling him to come back!
Remember, Ben doesn’t have anyone in his past life as far as a beloved that could tell him it’s not his time like when Caroline Brady (Peggy McCay) told Will Horton (Chandler Massey) to go back because it wasn’t his time, or when Tony DiMera (Thaao Penghlis) told Marlena which door to go through- although since he turned up alive later, it’s questionable if those penicillin laced macarons really did send her into the afterlife for a little while! So someone from his present in his present life, Ciara, will call him back from death. As far as an antidote for the remaining drugs in his system, perhaps an IV flush of his system or Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (William Utay) will come to the rescue!
