The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) believes he knows what would be best for Newman Enterprises. Victoria Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) unknown recovery period means that she’ll be out of commission for awhile. So, Victor is considering temporary replacement options.
Due to the effects of his blood disease, Victor isn’t able to reclaim the job he created fifty years ago, even on a part-time basis. Another Newman must be tapped since Vickie likely won’t be able to perform her duties as Chief Executive Officer at the family business.
Although there are plenty of other executives who could handle the role, Victor told Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) that he wants a Newman to run the show. Nick and his dad weren’t aware that Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) was selling her interest in the Grand Phoenix hotel. So they thought the only options were Victor’s two sons.
Young And The Restless Spoilers – What About Abby Newman?
Abby worked on and off at Newman through the years. She decided to forge her own path in the recent past, founding Society and then joining with Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) to push Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) out of power at the Phoenix.
But Phyllis’ recent scheme served to convince Abby that it was best to sell her fifty percent stake in the hotel, as was being demanded. However, Phyllis didn’t see Abby’s connected, brilliant step.
Young And The Restless Spoilers – Hotelier Has Needed Smarts
Nick doesn’t want the job. So, it would seem that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) wins the nod by default. However, Abby has exhibited the type of business savvy that must make her a candidate to assume Vickie’s duties while she’s ailing.
Abby has time to devote to Newman, considering that her planned, rival hotel won’t be open for a year, or more. Victor’s past move, when giving Vickie the reigns, implies that he could realize Abby is up for this challenge.

Young And The Restless Spoilers – Adam Newman Option Is Risky
Adam actually is being sincere. He genuinely wants to make amends with his dad and the family in general. But his erratic history raises understandable concerns.
Nick was right in telling his dad that it’s not wise to let Adam back in the door. Whether that assessment is apt isn’t the only question for Victor to ponder. His mere offer to Nick was proof that the Newman patriarch doesn’t trust his younger son and wanted his eldest to step up and take over.
Would Adam leave the company once Vickie was ready to return? Even if he relinquished power without incident, might Victor want him to stick around, choosing to believe that he’d proved himself and deserved some significant position?
The answers to the above questions could be learned, or become moot if Abby becomes the surprise Chief Executive Officer of Newman Enterprises.
