“General Hospital” star Kin Shriner spoke his truth when he said he was embarrassed to promote his character, which has now become a day player. The actor took to Twitter to announce that he’s set to reprise his role as Scott Baldwin on the sudser but he’s not thrilled of the fact that he alters ego isn’t getting that much air time.
“I have a couple of shows @GeneralHospital coming up but embarrassed to continue to promote a character I have played for over 42 years is now a day player. Thank u for your support over the years!” the actor tweeted.
Anyone who’s read the post will sense that the actor, who’s played the part for 42 years, is upset. Scott hasn’t been in the spotlight for so long and it’s no wonder the actor isn’t happy about it. The soap has a huge cast and some fans have suggested cutting a few characters so that other fan favorites could take center stage.

Not long after the actor posted his tweet, his followers rallied to offer him support. One said, “You are so beloved as an actor & Scotty is ICONIC.”
“You should be more prominent on #GH. Soap writers need to understand that soap viewers are loyal & we appreciate HISTORY. The characters are like friends we invite over every day for decades. Old friends are rare & valuable,” his follower insisted.
Another watcher explained that Shriner is a star and there’s no reason for him to feel embarrassed especially among his fans. Another viewer said he deserves much better than what he’s being given by the show now. There has been a lot of fans who have expressed their disappointment with the show for disregarding Scott and other soap vets.

Shriner landed the role of Scotty Baldwin on “General Hospital” back in 1977. He left the sudser in 1981 and joined the cast of “Texas” but left the role during the same year and returned to the soap.
While not on GH, Shriner had short stints on “Rituals,” “The Bold and the Beautiful,” “Port Charles,” “The Young and the Restless,” and “Full House.”

Scotty Baldwin SUCKS and he always has!! I LOVED it when he turned up at Luke and Lauras wedding and Luke kicked his ass but good
!! We need Luke back to do it routinely!! Also, I can’t stand, Maxie, Jax or that damn attorney of Nelles, or Nelle…… She needs to be KILLED OFF ASAP….VERY PAINFULLY!! And Good Riddance to bad rubbish!! Taggart….never could stand him either, and Jordan is fast coming on to my list, too! Curtis aunt Stella needs to return and give her royal hell, like she used to!!
