Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) wanted to help his father on ‘The Young and the Restless’. That was his genuine intent, but Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) decided against allowing his often wayward son to even temporarily assist at Newman Enterprises.
Despite the fact that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) told his father no on more than one occasion and that Adam volunteered to be Newman’s acting Chief Executive Officer, Victor gave the title to his first-born son.
So, as Vickie Newman (Amelia Heinle) recovers from the mistaken identity stab wound that Ripley Turner (Christian Keyes) inflicted on her, the company will be in the hands of Nick. Victor’s almost forgotten rare blood disease is being offered as the reason why he isn’t able to take the reigns himself.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Give Peace A Chance
Viewers shouldn’t be faulted if they forgot that Victor has what was termed a rare blood disease. This medical issue, that was diagnosed a while ago, has caused him to embrace retirement.
Hardcore fans know that the issue hasn’t often been discussed in recent months and appears to be serving as a plot device that allows the conflict between Victor and Adam to be reignited. That’s a shame, as fans have seen the back-and-forth between Braeden’s iconic character and the one that four adult actors who have portrayed Adam since 2008 (Chris Engen, Michael Muhney, Justin Hartley, and Grossman) for extended periods of time in the past.
Why not have a period of lasting peace between both men?
Y&R Spoilers – What Can Adam Newman Do Now?
Adam reacted badly and plans to fight. But if he’s truly interested in the lasting peace that was called for in the section above, Adam could take this lump with grace. That would go a long way to disproving his father’s suspicions.
Victor is right to not trust Adam or to allow him instantly back into his business. This still-young man could have killed the ‘Moustache’ when he double-dosed his medicine. Thankfully that didn’t happen, as Adam himself knows and relents.
Along with Chelsea Lawson’s (Melissa Claire Egan) backing, Adam doesn’t seem primed to back off. He’s stubborn and predictable like his father in those ways.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Nick Newman Needs To Prove Himself
Nick’s petulance caused him to leave Newman Enterprises many times over the years. Who’s to say that won’t happen shortly after he walks into the CEO’s office and if so, then what?
Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) has some time on her hands if Victor would then choose to elevate her above Adam. But if not, then how could the founder of Newman go to his youngest son and ask for his help?
The presumed fight that’s been predicted will likely be unpredictable. Victor and Adam have bested the other and are capable of doing so again, with no real winners in this repeated scenario.
