The Young and the Restless spoilers have hinted that a new face in town may become a permanent fixture now that the locals have taken a liking to him.
What do you think of newbie Jared (Michael Maclane) and do you want him to remain in town to spend time among the locals?
The Young and the Restless Spoilers – Jared’s backstory has a fresh twist that may turn out to be a red herring
Jared debuted earlier this month when he popped up just as the ice storm was turning lives upside down. Among the people inconvenienced were Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic), Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) and Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy).
The do-gooders were seeing how things were going at the new clinic they are supporting. The place hadn’t officially opened yet when they got a reluctant patient, Jared.
Jared said that his arm was cut and bleeding, the result of a robbery attempt gone bad. According to Jared, his grandfather runs a store and while he was there an incident went down and that’s how he ended up with his injury.
Elena managed to help Jared with the wound, but he acted like a scared deer and left without much fanfare.
Y&R Spoilers – Jared says he was in the foster care system just like Amanda Sinclair was
Later Jared came back and asked for help for his grandfather. The man was taken to the hospital where Nate treated him.
This week we got to learn a bit more about the independent young man. During a meeting with Nate and Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan), he talked about being in the foster care system and Amanda talked about her own experiences in the system.
Hearing that she was once in the same boat loosened Jared up a bit and he seemed to relax as he listened and related to Amanda’s story.

The Young and the Restless Spoilers – Will Jared stick around Genoa City or is he just a temporary plotline?
We may or we may not see Jared after this week. While the trio was talking, Nate got a text and he relayed to Jared that it was about his grandfather. He said they must leave and go to him, and the men rushed out.
Jared may have been a convenient plot point, a way of endorsing the need for the clinic in Genoa City. Then again, his story as a teen who aged out of the foster care system is a relevant and important one to tell. Tell us what you think about Jared’s story!
