The Young and The Restless spoilers tease that Michelle Stafford, who plays Phyllis Summers on the CBS daytime drama, made homemade face masks for herself, and her children Natalia and Jameson recently and posted a photo of them modeling them on Instagram. They, like many others in the United States are having to practice social distancing and now have to wear protective masks when they go out, while Michelle’s workplace, the studio where The Young and The Restless is filmed is shut down.
Michelle Stafford Has Played Troublemakers But Wants To Stay Away From Trouble In Real Life
While Michelle has played some troublemakers in her time, Phyllis on The Young and The Restless and Nina Reeves on the ABC daytime drama General Hospital, she’d just as soon stay away from trouble in real life, and that includes the biggest trouble in the world now, coronavirus or as it is also called, Covid-19.
The guidelines in California are recommending masks if one goes outside, and while they may be hard to buy, Stafford shows how they’re easy to make. She posted twice on Instagram, once post showing a video how to make a mask out of a bandana and two hair elastics, and another where she, her daughter Natalia and her son Jameson pose in matching red masks that she made herself.

While most of Michelle’s fans already learned how much the single mother has to go through just to go on an errand or two last week, that chore has become even more difficult now since wearing protective masks outside has had to become a part of life. Michelle then did a follow-up post that showed herself and her two kids wearing their makeshift masks. She commented, “Ok… mama made the masks (see prior post). Off to the post office! We can’t breathe well but we make this look work!

Humorously, a couple of the readers commented to the former General Hospital (ex-Nina) and current The Young and the Restless star (Phyllis) that she looked like she was about to start belly dancing in the picture. And what was her response? She said if they’re holed up much longer, she just may! A sense of humor is definitely a good thing to have and to cultivate in stressful times like this; and being able to let loose during tense times is a gift – and alluding to the lyrics of an old country song, sometimes being crazy can keep one from going insane!
