Counting On’s Jinger Duggar Vuolo recently posted a photo of daughter Felicity that fans quickly turned into a mom-shaming field day. Will the Duggar girls always be under this type of scrutiny? How far is too far when in the public spotlight?

The Message Was About Social Distancing

Counting On’s Jinger had snapped a quick photo of her daughter on a landline phone. Jinger thought the moment was cute because landlines are quickly becoming a thing of the past. With the social distancing movement right now, this was the perfect opportunity for the reality show star to suggest calling a family member to keep in touch.

The photo featured Jinger’s 20-month-old daughter, Felicity, talking on the landline phone. Jinger captioned the photo with “Our little social butterfly always loves a good chat with a friend. In these days of social distancing, let’s not forget to pick up the phone and call a loved one.”

A completely innocent photo to anyone except those mom shamers eager to attack anything the Duggar mom does wrong. Jinger states that she knew the comments would start rolling in as soon as she saw the uncovered wall outlet and was prepared for the backlash.

Mind Your Own Business

In the Counting On star’s defense, some fans adopted the attitude of “mind yo own business” in one of the comments after her being shamed over and over by followers. Jinger’s daughter wasn’t bothering the wall outlet, it was simply in the background.

After all the shaming comments another follower chose to shrug it off and simply comment that she was pretty sure the photo was taken in a hotel room but she couldn’t recall where. Should the tv star take all outlet covers on the road with her to every hotel she stays in?

Perhaps Jinger should not post photos of her daughter without first checking the background. Perhaps fans should adapt the follower’s philosophy of “mind your own business.” After all, would any of these fans want someone coming into their homes and tell them to cover wall outlets? At what point do fans take things too far when attacking the parenting of reality tv stars? When Is enough, enough?

Are Outlet Covers Safe?

In support of the Counting On star, maybe fans should consider the outlet covers are not always safe. Statics show that some wall outlet cover can actually catch on fire while in the wall. Imagine believing you are safe by using these covers only to burn your house down injuring or even killing your child.

Children survived for decades without outlet covers and will continue to do so. Perhaps parents should teach their children the dangers of sticking things in a wall out instead of shaming parents who choose to do just that.

The Duggar family is used to being under scrutiny because they have been in the public eye all of their lives. However, there is a point where people need to support others instead of shaming them for posting a cute photo highlighting a major concern.

Obviously, I don’t think it’s safe to have outlets exposed when you have children. But we don’t know the reason why they’re uncovered. Maybe they were in a hotel room or rental. It seems like the fans have too much time on their hands.
