The Young and the Restless Spoilers – Phyllis Summers And Nick Newman Are On A Romantic Merry-Go-Round

Phyllis and Nick have found their friendship once again evolving into a romantic merry-go-round – or should that be marry-go-round? The couple has been married, divorced and remarried several times and every time they remarried something went wrong and it wound up in divorce. As they are in Phyllis’ suite at the Grand Phoenix, Nick questions why a previous conversation about commitment seems to have been forgotten by Phyllis.

She changes the subject and says she thinks sex is clouding their judgment – they have hurt each other enough for a lifetime, if not several, and she can’t stand being hurt by him again. Nick doesn’t believe for a minute that Phyllis is not invested in “them”, and tells her he is every bit as invested as she is.

Phyllis chokes up and tells him she’s scared – scared of being hurt again and hurting him again. Nick tells her he’s in it for the long haul, and Phyllis wants to lock themselves in the suite and just talk all night, but he can’t touch her. She feels the most herself with Nick, and he likes that.

However, the not touching doesn’t work so well as they wind up in the shower together in spite of themselves, which causes them to relive the time they eloped, and then they wind up in bed anyway, even as Nick ignores texts from his father! Nick and Phyllis talk about the risks they are taking and about trusting each other. Nick tells her he wants this, he wants her, and the whole beautiful maddening package. He tells her he’s all in and she makes his life better, and they kiss!

Y&R Spoilers – Together Forever Again, But Can They Make It Forever This Time?

Nick and Phyllis realize that however unintentionally it happened, they again are at the point of together forever again – but the question is, can they make it really forever this time and avoid the mistakes they have made before – mostly made by Phyllis, but Nick owns up to his part in their past breakups as well. Nick tells Phyllis it all boils down to a question of commitment – not only to each other, but each to themselves to not let themselves be divided again, and not let themselves give in to temptations to do things that would harm their relationship and hurt each other.

Phyllis agrees and admits that Nick is right. One time Phyllis had broken the law and gotten arrested – which brought a little excitement to the marriage, but more than anything it brought a lot of inconvenience and trouble! Another couple of times she cheated on Nick, and part of the time that Nick was married to or involved with Phyllis he was still in love with his first wife, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case), and in feeling that he had to protect Sharon, his marriage to Phyllis fell apart.

With Sharon currently battling breast cancer, Phyllis understands that Nick needs to support their teenage daughter Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind) and he feels he should be part of Sharon’s support team as well, and Phyllis agrees; she wants to help also. Again, they discuss boundaries along with commitment, and decide they belong together and maybe they always have!

I don’t think Nick and Phyllis belong together. Every time they get married, it all falls apart. Someone ends up having an affair. I don’t think they love each other as much as they think they do. They’re just reliving memories because they’re both lonely right now. Summer was right. It’s not a good idea for them to get back together.
