General Hospital (GH) spoilers revealed that Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) recently surprised everyone by telling Laura Spencer (Genie Francis) that he wanted her to be the one to teach his daughter, Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez) how to be a good person. GH fans know that Valentin loves Charlotte and that she just about the only person on the planet that he truly loves.
General Hospital Spoilers – Valentin is Horrified
Not that long ago, GH fans watched as Valentin came strolling in to the Metro Court. There, his parental nemesis, Lulu Spencer-Falconeri (Emme Rylan) invited him to sit down with his daughter, Charlotte. Lulu wanted Charlotte to tell her papa all about the snake that was discovered at the birthday party of Violet Finn (Jophielle Love). Valentin pried out the details from Charlotte and seemed amused that “Nagini” had ended up in the purse of Ava Cassadine (Maura West). Valentin shocked Charlotte when he revealed that he knew she had gotten Nagini from Roger’s Reptile Roundup. GH viewers know that Valentin had given Charlotte access to one of his credit cards. Apparently, Valentin had set things up so that he would be notified whenever there was a purchase made with the card. (Wise move.)
However, Valentin’s amusement soon turned to horror when he asked Charlotte why she had put Nagini into Ava’s purse. GH fans now know that Charlotte believed that Ava was an enemy of Valentin’s. In fact, she revealed to Valentin’s sorrow that she had seen her papa push Ava off a parapet and into the Port Charles bay!

Some GH viewers are eternal pessimists and see the worst in people. That’s why there are those who believe that when Valentin eventually spoke with Laura and asked her to teach Charlotte morals and how to be a good person, he was doing so out of selfish motivations. These GH fans believe that Valentin might love his daughter to death, but that’s precisely the point. If he doesn’t give Lulu custody of Charlotte, the child will be around to see Valentin do a lot more evil things. Charlotte’s already a witness to an attempted murder. What would Valentin do if Charlotte was made to testify against him? Of course, Valentin could never allow that! Therefore, these GH viewers think Valentin would rather shove his daughter off into someone else’s care than have to potentially craft a tiny pair of cement overshoes ….
Of course, that’s horrible and most GH fans don’t feel Valentin is that cold or evil. Instead, the situation with Charlotte could be exactly as it appears. Valentin could genuinely be afraid that Charlotte could end up like him … a cold criminal, a power seeker, a murderer at heart ….
Valentin doesn’t want that for his daughter, and for some this is evidence that there is good lurking somewhere deep inside the man.
General Hospital Spoilers – Valentin Hates Himself
Some GH fans also believe that Valentin’s surprising move to tell Laura that he wouldn’t fight Lulu if she moves forward with her motion to get full custody of their child shows that he hates himself. After all, if Valentin thought he was an amazing person, a good person, why would he try to protect Charlotte from himself? No, Valentin recognizes that he is deeply flawed and that he’s done wicked things … and he hates the idea of Charlotte growing up to be like him.
With that said, Valentin could easily turn on a dime and change his mind. Could viewers see an event that would cause Valentin to re-evaluate his latest, impulsive move?
