CBS The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) desperation can lead him to achieve unthinkable success. Facing the prospect of going to jail, Adam may turn Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) against their father.
However, Nick is not Mr. Nice, as Adam believes. The J.T. Hellstrom (Thad Luckinbill) imitation storyline confirmed that Nick will go rogue when necessary. So, whatever Adam believes he’s achieving may actually be part of Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) underlying plan.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Vegas Is A Big Problem
Adam will come to calculate that if he is going down for killing a man in Las Vegas, Nevada, then Victor will do time for bribing a Coroner in Kansas.
As viewers recall, Adam admitted to Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz) that he killed the man Boaz’s character was pursuing. Adam claimed self-defense, which wasn’t challenged by Chance.
Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) unknown knowledge of Adam’s reveal can give Nick a major tactical advantage if he gleans that intel from Red. She wanted to provide him with her physical evidence of Adam’s admission, but Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) seemingly destroyed all copies Phyllis had.
Y&R Spoilers – Nick Newman Seeks To Topple Brother
The setup will need to be perfect in order to convince Adam that Nick has turned against Victor. Grossman’s character isn’t as wise as the Moustache, but he’s extremely clever and just as ruthless, if not more so at this point in his young life.
Assuming Victor and Nick are able to fool Adam, they’ll gain leverage over him. The ultimatum he’ll be issued will be to drop all plans to publicize what Victor did in Kansas years ago in exchange for their silence on the Vegas matter.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Victor Newman Wants Peace
Victor has actually felt sorry for Adam all these years. He knew that his youngest son repressed what he did to Alyssa Montalvo’s (Maria DiDomenico) father and never wanted Adam to know about it.
But Adam’s blocked thoughts caused him to believe that Victor was responsible for the Kansas murder. And with that, he feels that he has power. If Adam also comes to believe Nick will work with him to bring down their father, then it’s possible that Victor will be able to achieve peace through force.
While Adam surely won’t like being bested by Victor and betrayed by Nick, an eventual lifting of the clouds that are covering his childhood memories could serve to drive the climax to this storyline.
