‘A Lot Of Damage Has Been Done’ Between The Sussexes And The Cambridges
The current People cover story features the It Couple of the moment, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. They are living a life of freedom in L.A. and the story explores how this came to be.
It takes a look at the bombshell book Finding Freedom which purports to tell the “real” story behind Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s exit from the royal family. That move was dubbed Megxit and set a royal precedent for audacity and nerve.
Never before had a royal divorced himself willingly form The Firm as Harry did. Sure there have been excisions of royals, and banishment of royals (Prince Andrew for one) but these have to be thought of as involuntary ex-communications from the gilded dynasty.

Instead, Harry did the unthinkable by not only willingly leaving the royal fold, but also doing so in an extraordinarily public and petulant way.
This crass maneuver has been rumored to play a part in a worsening of his relationships with several family members. In particular, the book delves into the tension that beset one specific royal foursome.
One of the authors of Finding Freedom, Omid Scobie, told People that, “a lot of damage has been done,” by Megxit in regard to the relationship between Harry, Meghan, Prince William, and Kate Middleton.
Was Prince Harry’s Family Intent On Snubbing Him Or Is He Seeing Ghosts In The Corners?
The book reveals that Meghan did not cotton to the way Kate treated her, in particular, she did not go out of her way to make her welcome. But the fact is that Kate did invite her to her home, cooked for her, had her over for Christmas, and took her to Wimbledon. What did Meghan want, one of Kate’s kids?
There are also reports that Prince William reportedly told his brother about Meghan, “Don’t feel like you need to rush this,” to which Harry took offense. Actually, the book says that Harry was p***** off by his brother’s advice.

But, a source says of the event that William was simply being rational while Harry took it in a personal manner in which it was not intended.
The Book Finding Freedom is available on August 11 and no doubt will incite more emotional flames when it debuts.
