Eastenders spoilers reveal that Chantelle Atkins’ (Jessica Plummer) funeral day is coming up soon. However, there will be some drama when loved ones lay the young woman down to rest. Gray Atkins (Toby-Alexander Smith) might not even attend the funeral and here is why. Keep reading to get all the information known about the upcoming scene.
EastEnders spoilers – When Is Chantelle Atkins’ Funeral?
According to Digital Spy, Chantelle’s funeral will air on Thursday, October 8. Her family and friends will come to pay their final respects and to say goodbye. Her life was abruptly ended and the fault lies with her own husband. However, it doesn’t seem that the police have any evidence against Gray. At least, not yet, but others are starting to get suspicious and that will continue in the weeks ahead.
Gray Atkins’ Conflict
Eastenders spoilers reveal that Gray might not attend the funeral, but it’s probably not what you think. Attending his wife’s funeral would be the proper and respectable thing to do. It would also be typical of the “grieving husband” act he’s putting on for the public. However, he will end up facing a conflict when Whitney Dean’s (Shona McGarty) trial happens at the same time. Gray is defending Whitney and he will have to decide which one takes priority.
To anyone else, attending their wife’s funeral would come first. However, Gray has a certain image he wants to protect and he is considered a “knight in shining armor” for helping Whitney.
Eastenders Spoilers – Feeling Overwhelmed
It is also stated that Gray will start to crumble under the pressure of the police asking questions, the public’s perception of Chantelle’s death, his in-law’s, the funeral, and career. As fans know, he doesn’t handle pressure very well and usually released it by beating Chantelle. It is teased that Gray will feel completely overwhelmed by everything, so perhaps he will finally break down and confess.

Whitney Dean Grilled
Eastenders spoilers also tease that Whitney will end up being grilled while on the stand. She has to answer questions and explain her actions regarding Leo King’s (Tom Wells) death.
Even though he stalked and tormented her for months, she is being tried for his murder. However, she has no clue that the man defending her is a violent abuser, master manipulator, and killer.
