This is Us This is Us Season 5 spoilers say that while fans were excited to see their favorite daytime television show back, they weren’t very happy with the episode.

Whereas many people watch the show to get an escape from the real world, they got a heavy dose of it, as both the Covid-19 pandemic and the Black Lives Matters protests in The United States played an integral part of the episode, with plenty of references to the virus, Zoom calls, characters wearing masks and the news that George Floyd died. Needless to say, fans weren’t ready for it.

Of course, it didn’t take very long for This is Us fans and critics to respond to the episode, with a lot of them expressing their dismay overseeing references to the Covid-19 pandemic on the show.

Many critics wrote, “This is disappointing because I didn’t choose to watch this show just to see my everyday nightmare on it. The last thing I want to see is even more people in masks when all we want to do is get rid of ours,” along with, “No. Just no. Whoever made this decision didn’t think this one through. I don’t want television shows and movies to start talking about the coronavirus when all I want is for it to be over with already.”

Fans Unhappy

Another fan wrote, “As much as I love this show, this has got to be the worst episode ever. We are still living in this pandemic. We don’t need a fictionalized version of it when it’s still very real.”
