Royal Family News: Meghan Markle Accused Of Plagiarizing New Children’s Book
British Royal family news reveals Meghan Markle just can’t seem to catch a break these days. There’s a new report that says the Duchess of Sussex is being accused of plagiarizing her new children’s book. Just after Meghan announced the book in a press release, one Twitter user suggested that Prince Harry’s wife might have ripped off the idea from a book that is already available in stores. Here’s what you need to know.
British Royal News – Meghan Markle Accused Of Plagiarizing New Children’s Book
Meghan is being accused of plagiarizing her book, The Bench, which apparently is very similar to The Boy and the Bench. Meghan said that she wrote the book for her husband Prince Harry and their son Archie Harrison. Shortly after she gave birth to Archie back in 2019, she began writing a poem for Harry for Father’s Day that year, which eventually turned into this book.
But Twitter thinks that Meghan might have ripped this idea off of another author. “Before you run out and waste money on the book by Harry’s wife, read ‘The Boy on the Bench’ by Corrinne Averiss and Gabriel Alborozo … The original” wrote one person.
If that weren’t enough, a lot of people also think that Meghan’s book The Bench and The Boy on the Bench also have similar artwork.
If that weren’t enough, online critic Emma Kay Wootton said Meghan’s book was “Blatantly plagiarized” and that Markle’s work should be “boycotted.”
“I’ll wager a bet that Corrinne’s book is in Archie’s collection. That’s where her idea came from. I don’t believe that this is all her own thinking or reflects her idyllic life whatsoever,” she said.
British Royal News – Meghan’s Newest Controversy
So far Meghan Markle herself has not made any comments about the controversy but it’s doubtful anything will be said. However, there have been additional reports that suggest the Duchess of Sussex is looking to write even more children’s books and even adult books in the future.

Yet the author of the book, The Boy and the Bench, dismissed any claims of plagiarism.
“Reading the description and published an excerpt of the Duchess’s new book, this is not the same story or the same theme as ‘The Boy on the Bench.’ I don’t see any similarities,” Averiss said.
