Sally wants Nick to be the father of her first baby. She hid her pregnancy for a handful of days before admitting the truth to Nick. His questions about the subject were offered with compassion and warm-heartedness, elements that Sally believes make Nick her ideal guy.

Adam is wild and reckless. He treated Sally badly when claiming to have not loved her and wanted a hard break. But when viewers are allowed to see inside her mind, she continues to long for Nick’s younger brother.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Adam Newman Under Assault

Adam is often battling a real, exaggerated, or imagined foe. He currently suspects that his father and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) are conspiring to do something to him at Jabot.

In the above plot point, Adam’s instincts are exactly right. While he has done nothing to earn Kyle’s current contempt, Mealor’s character told his wife Adam will eventually do something that harms the business.

Summer Newman Abbott (Allison Lanier) wisely sees danger dead ahead if Kyle does Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) bidding, intending to push Adam back to Newman Enterprises.

Y&R Spoilers – Nick Newman Unexpectedly Loses Out?

Nick appears to believe that the dalliance Sally referenced having with Adam in the past is not a factor in her pregnancy. Her veer of the conversation away from Adam is intentional during this period in the plot before she confirms paternity.

Sally does not want to request a paternity test from either brother. Nick and Adam’s awareness of the situation seems inevitable. But Sally has time to consider all options before she begins showing.

Morrow’s character was not fazed by the pregnancy news, believing it to be the most positive sign that he and Sally are destined to be together. He would be more saddened than anything if Adam is the father.

Sally still loves Adam. But she also knows that Nick has quickly grown on her. She prefers him to Adam, as proven by her decision not to reconcile with Grossman’s character.

If Adam proves to be the father, Sally might decide that the stronger tie was to that Newman brother. But a match to Nick would support Sally’s increasing feelings for him.

Of course, soapy proceedings may make it hard to determine the paternity status on Y&R.
