General Hospital Spoilers: Marshall Isn’t Hiding His Own Secret, He’s Hiding Portia’s

General Hospital Spoilers tease Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett) has been growing more distant from his family in recent months. Ever since Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) received his genetic screening results showing he didn’t inherit a single marker for Schizophrenia from his father, things have been tense.

Curtis has assumed that Marshall is just responding to the pressure he and Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) have placed on his shoulders to get tested again and confirm that he wasn’t misdiagnosed. That might be part of the problem, but it isn’t necessarily for the reasons that Marshall claims. Furthermore, his distance might have a lot more to do with Curtis’ future wife than it does with his father.

General Hospital Spoilers — Marshall Ashford Was Noticeably Upset

When Curtis got his genetic screening results, Marshall was really shaken up. With tears in his eyes, he processed what Portia was saying, but everything around him quickly became a blur. When he left Curtis in Portia’s office, he was noticeably upset and Curtis inquired as to why.

At the time, he believed his father when Marshall said he was just relieved because he had been so scared for his son that he could end up with the markers and suffering from such a serious mental health disorder someday. It was a breath of fresh air for Marshall to know Curtis wouldn’t be passing those markers onto his own children either.

GH Spoilers – Hint Portia Robinson Keeps Pushing

It was certainly a relief for Portia, too, that Curtis didn’t inherit any susceptibility to Schizophrenia from his father. That being said, it was unbelievable to her that he didn’t. The odds were not in Curtis’ favor that he wouldn’t inherit any of the ten markers, and it’s highly unlikely that Marshall has Schizophrenia, in Portia’s opinion.

However, there could be another reason for that — such as Marshall not really being Curtis’ biological father. As Portia continues to push for Marshall to be more transparent, he will only clap back more and withdraw. Is this really about his status as a father in Curtis’ life though, or something else?

General Hospital Spoilers — Marshall Ashford  Is Protecting Them Both

Marshall might not be Curtis’ father, but that’s not the only thing he’s keeping to himself. He may also have a hunch that Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) is Curtis’ daughter. While we don’t know the details of how he would come to such a conclusion himself without even knowing about the drama between Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) and Portia, it’s possible that in getting to know Trina, she has reminded him of Curtis in some way — perhaps a way that wouldn’t dawn on Curtis because Marshall remembers what Curtis was like as a child better than Curtis remembers himself.

Nonetheless, word has it Marshall may be keeping his distance from Portia and Curtis and their wedding because he suspects Portia may be lying to Curtis and doesn’t know how to tell him. Marshall could fear that Portia suspects he isn’t Curtis’ father and could retaliate and voice her suspicion if he does the same.
