Dancing With The Stars (DWTS) host Tom Bergeron left the ABC show and when it migrated to Disney+, Len Goodman also left and that saw the rise of Julianne and Derek Hough. Additionally, the prayers of critics were answered when Tyra Banks departed ahead of Season 32. This week, Tom reacted to the news that Julianne would take over from Tyra alongside Alfonso Ribeiro.
Dancing With The Stars – Tom Bergeron Was Chopped Unexpectedly
Dancing With The Stars fans were upset and angry when Tom got booted from the show. After all, he was loved and familiar. Tyra arrived; naturally, everything she did was compared to the former host. And, they were massive shoes to fill. Almost universally slammed, few people shed any tears when her departure was announced.
DWTS judge, Derek Hough confirmed his return in Season 32 of the show. That news arrived on March 20, around the same time the news that Julianne would become co-host. On Monday, April 3, Tom Bergeron took to his Instagram account and posted up a collage of photos. In them, apart from himself, were Julianne Hough, Derek, and Alfonso. In his caption, he said, “Glad the show’s in good hands. Their feet ain’t bad, either.” Well, that’s a clear signal of his approval!
DWTS fans who saw the post noted the reply by Julianne who sounded gracious. She wrote, “These feet could never fill your shoes, but I’ll bring my own and hope I do you proud! I absolutely learned from the best! I completely and utterly adore you @tombergeron ❤️❤️❤️.”
Meanwhile, Derek Hough also responded and said, “You’re the best Tom! 🙌”
Dancing With The Stars – Fans Still Miss Tom Bergeron But Like Julianne Hough
Reactions in the comments section revealed that like Julianne, many people still believe Tom held the crown. However, they seem to like Julianne for second palace. In fact, some folks who claimed they stopped watching, said they will consider a return to the show.
One DWTS follower wrote, “YAY! I can watch it again! Haven’t watched since you were hosting @tombergeron.”
Meanwhile, others hope to see Tom back as “a guest judge” one day.

Without dissing Julianne, fans let Tom know how much he’s missed. A follower opined, “Alfonso is great, no doubt about it, but when you were hosting Dancing With the Stars, it was legendary. …Tom, you are the best host, period. Don’t ever forget that.”
