General Hospital spoilers, news, and updates tease that fans should watch out for Emma Samms’ Return to the sudser this week. However, she almost didn’t come back to the show.
Emma Samms will be making a highly anticipated return to General Hospital on April 17th. She will be part of ABC’s 60th-anniversary celebrations as the show airs a short-term story arc. Although details surrounding the storyline have been kept under wraps, it has been revealed that Samms’ character, Holly, will be seeking justice against Victor Cassadine ( ), who had held her captive in the past. Holly has been determined to hold Victor accountable for his many other criminal acts, making for a riveting storyline that is sure to keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
Samm’s last appearance on the sudser was six months ago, and fans were excited to learn about her return. However, the actress had concerns that her upcoming return may fall short compared to her character’s previous success.
In a previous interview with Soap Opera Digest, the actress shared that “it was almost too good last time.”
“It was so perfect and so well-received that maybe I should have stepped away [from GH] permanently, and left on such a high,” she added.
Fortunately, General Hospital was able to convince Samms to reprise her role. Additionally, the actress said that fans’ support was one of the main reasons she decided to return.
“That’s who we’re doing this for; everything we do is for them, and their enthusiasm and support is what motivates me. There’s absolutely no other reason to do it,” Samms shared.
It still remains unclear if her recent return would be her last. But the actress wanted everyone to know that being on General Hospital ” has been and continues to be a joy.”
Samms Opens Up About Returning To General Hospital
“I feel so comfortable there. Everyone’s so welcoming to me. I love working with Charlie [Shaughnessy, Victor], obviously; Tristan [Rogers, Robert] has been in good form; Kristina [Wagner, Felicia] is just a delight to work with and it just feels very easy,” the actress shared.
“And I’ve gotten to work this time around with some different cast members, some other characters, and that’s been really lovely,” she continued.
