A few weeks ago, she thought she might have been, and her hopes were high as she prepared to take a test only to end up disappointed. The truth is, T.J. Ashford (Tajh Bellow) was also quite excited about the prospect of becoming a father sooner than they had planned. However, neither of them has put their real feelings on the table — both believing the other must not have wanted the almost-baby they weren’t having. Now, Molly is headed to see her doctor to figure out why she’s late if she’s not pregnant — and she won’t receive good news. How can she possibly tell T.J. they’re never going to have a baby together?

Molly needs to figure out why her cycle didn’t show up and what other explanation there is for it if she’s not pregnant. Secretly, she might be hoping the home pregnancy test was wrong, but she knows that isn’t likely. When Molly sees her doctor and they run some tests, the result is going to floor her. Ultimately, it’ll mean she cannot have children of her own. Molly will be heartbroken and unsure how she can possibly deliver this news to T.J., who expects to have children with her someday.

When T.J. asks Molly about her doctor’s appointment, she’s going to lie to him for the first time in a very long time. She swore to herself she would be a better partner than she has seen her mother be to her own partners. She wanted to be the other half that T.J. need, but how can she be if she cannot even make him a father? This is going to weigh on Molly’s heart, alongside how devastated he is for herself that she won’t be a mother in the traditional sense.

While Molly is making sure T.J. doesn’t find out about her health problems, she’s going to skirt around them by going to a different hospital to seek treatment. Unfortunately, that treatment won’t help her conceive, but it will make sure she lives a long and healthy life. Much like Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) didn’t clue Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) in when she was diagnosed with cancer, Molly is going to keep her own diagnosis concealed from T.J., and he’ll be none the wiser…for a while.
