The Young and the Restless spoilers, news, and updates tease that Mishael Morgan, who played Hilary Curtis in the show, has some new announcements.
Mishael was cast in Y&R in May 2013 but left in July 2018 due to failed negotiations with the management. But in 2019, she announced her return to the show but as a new character – Amanda Sinclair.
She also won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series in 2022, which makes her the first black woman to win the category.
But the same year, her character just became a recurring role, which was taken negatively by the fans. She revealed that there were a couple of reasons why she had to step back from the show. She thought that it was finally time to move on and that she wanted to tell more stories, especially when it comes to the Black Lives Matter movement.
Post-Y&R projects
Mishael is now excited to announce that she is almost done with her first project after The Young and The Restless. She is starring in the thriller Spiral, to which she is also an executive producer. She shared her progress on her Instagram and she thanked everyone on her team as their project is about to be concluded.
She said that she can’t wait for everyone to see it. Although there is a Chris Rock film back in 2021 with the same title (seems like a spin-off of the Saw movie franchise), we still can’t wait to see what Mishael’s Spiral is all about.
According to IMDb, other casts of Spiral include Emmanuel Kabongo, Lovell Adams-Gray, Brittany Raymond, Paul Amos, Karl Campbell, and Tony Ofori, among others. It is directed by Charlie Hamilton and alongside him is co-director Zachary Ramelan.

The description only says “Sway Drayton has it all. And he’s about to lose it.” There are still no other details about the film, even the release date. This makes us more intrigued and just like Mishael, we also can’t wait.
Apart from the film, Mishael also started a recurring role in the series Chicago Med. It’s part of the Chicago Franchise which includes Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D. The series is currently in its eighth season.
Mishael has been active before Y&R casting. She was part of the series Family Biz and The Best Years. She also guested in several TV series as well such as Supernatural, Beauty and the Beast, She’s the Mayor and Covert Affairs.
