Malcom has come and gone over the years and he was last in town to honor his late brother Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John). Malcom came back unannounced to Genoa City, Wisconsin and his family were delighted that he could attend the ceremony honoring Neil. Moore debuted as Malcom in 1994.

Malcom’s visit was without drama or incident, but the same cannot be said for Moore’s primetime series. Last week it was announced that CBS cancelled the hugely popular show S.W.A.T.
As a result daytime fans set the rumor mill on fire that Moore might return to daytime. That hope was short-lived as the network abruptly walked back the cancellation and instead renewed the show for a seventh and final season.

Fandom had all of three days to pine about Moore returning to his acting roots before it was announced that his primetime role would return for another season. The season 6 finale airs on Friday, May 19, and there will be 13 episodes in its next installment.
After the show was cancelled CBS Entertainment president Amy Reisenbach and Sony Pictures TV Studios president Katherine Pope said in a joint statement: “We have listened to our viewers and their outpouring of passion for S.W.A.T. and we have reached an agreement to renew it for a final season of 13 episodes to air during the 2023-2024 broadcast year.”
“S.W.A.T. has aired for six seasons on CBS and garnered a devoted following. We are pleased that we found a way to bring it back and give closure to the show’s storylines and characters, which audiences deserve.”

Shemar Moore was vocal in condemning the cancellation which came as a shock for the cast and especially for Moore who posted an emotional Instagram video on Saturday in which he said, “It makes no sense. We’re the best show on Friday night at 8 o’clock for CBS. The last two years we’ve been killing it. We’ve done nothing wrong. We did everything that was asked for.”
“They said we’re cancelled, but guess what? I don’t think we’re done. CBS is either gonna wake up and realize they made a mistake. Sony is gonna do their math and realize that this is not the right move.”
And he was right.
