Molly is devastated by the news that she cannot get pregnant and birth her own children, but the next best thing would be having someone she knows and trusts nearby to do it — right?

Molly has known for years that she had problems with her monthly cycle, but she never imagined it would prevent her from having a child in the most traditional sense. Fortunately, she can still use her own eggs to have a baby, but someone else will have to carry that child. Someone else will feel their first movements, their hiccups, every kick, and the sensations of labor and childbirth. Molly was looking forward to those milestones and can’t believe she’s being robbed of those experiences before she had even decided she was ready for them.

Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) might have to give her little sister a dose of reality when Kristina comes to her with this grand plan. Sure, it sounds great to Kristina, and it’s a wonderful thing that she would be willing to put herself through all of this for her sister. But that doesn’t mean her sister would be willing to accept the offer. This news is still so raw for Molly, and she’s trying to process the reality of what her life may look like now. So far, that doesn’t include exploring other options with enthusiasm. Kristina probably should tone it down a bit until Molly gives the green light to talk about alternative paths to parenthood, but will she?

In Kristina’s head, it sounds like the perfect solution. Who else could Molly and T.J. Ashford (Tajh Bellow) trust more — and within the same city? This way, Molly could be a part of the pregnancy alongside Kristina, and Kristina wins out, too, because she doesn’t think she ever wants to be a mom — but she would like to experience the most feminine event in the history of mankind: pregnancy. But is T.J. going to be cool with the ever-so-unreliable Kristina carrying his child? What about her health history and addiction problems, not to mention the issues she’s had with mental health? Add to that, she manages a bar for a living. Is this really the type of person they would pick to be their surrogate if she wasn’t Molly’s sister?
