The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Summer Newman Abbott (Allison Lanier) was mortified when her husband told her he knew Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) was alive. Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) advised that Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) met with Phyllis and relayed that information to him, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), and Michael Baldwin (Christian Le Blanc).
Of course, Summer has been trying to keep her mother’s secret from Kyle and others. She did go against Phyllis’ directive not to tell Daniel, feeling that her brother’s grief needed to be relieved.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Phyllis Summers Is Making Mistakes
Phyllis should have never allowed herself to be baited by Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters). Doing so led to the cavort with Jack that was then brandished as a victory in the Grand Phoenix to Diane that Bergman’s character overheard.
Losing Jack to Diane felt like an inevitable process. But Phyllis was responsible for alienating Jack. She also built insurmountable walls between herself, Summer, and Daniel.
Feeling all was lost, Phyllis went all in on a plan that Jeremy Stark (James Hyde) presented to her. That frame led to her faked murder and eventually the need to kill Jeremy in self-defense.
Y&R Spoilers – Daniel Romalotti Is Not To Blame
Daniel stands to eventually receive credit from his sister and mother. His actions represent those of the adult in the room.
Phyllis is certainly not behaving like a responsible parent. She sunk into a depression months ago that included paranoia related to Diane.
Summer was put under such intense pressure by Phyllis when first believing she was killed by Diane. Then, Phyllis suddenly returned from the dead and told Summer the whole story, including having to kill Jeremy with scissors.
Daniel is the reason why all involved parties have a chance to pull out of this doomsday scenario. But we are many episodes away from that projected climax, resolution, and epilogue.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Summer Newman Operating In Survival Mode
Like her mother, Summer has no real plan to help. She is barely getting through each day, trying to avoid contact with Kyle because he might be able to get to the heart of the matter and expose the secrets she holds.
Conflict with Daniel is momentary. It is leading to Phyllis’ capture or surrender.
Summer will need to resolve outstanding issues with Kyle because the trust they have relied upon since returning from Italy has been smashed on Y&R.
